The Bill Collection Terminal is a low-cost data entry terminal equipped with a Keyboard, LCD Display, Barcode Reader and Miniature Receipt Printer that may be used to perform some basic “Record Type” data entry operations.

The terminal is equipped with an Online Information Transfer Facility to update the central server using GSM technology.

Features

• Security
  The device caters to two levels of security:
  Supervisor: At this level, provision for configuration of the terminal is given. Creation of various login ids is also possible in this level of security.
  User: This level provisions payment collection, bill generation and data upload to the server. Accessing of bill details from the remote server against a telephone number is also possible.
   

• Payment Collection & Data Entry
  The person who is operating the Payment terminal accepts payments for phone bills from customers in the form of cash or cheque. Correspondingly, the operator types in the payment information into the Bill Collection Terminal. Details of the transaction are stored on the memory of the terminal.
   

• Receipt Generation
  As soon as the customer makes the bill payment, a receipt is printed and given to the customer for future reference.
   

• Data Upload
  The Bill Collection Terminal uses an online transfer facility using GSM technology to update the database on the remotely situated Central Server. The transaction details which are stored in the Bill Collection Terminal may be uploaded to the server either immediately or after a pre-defined condition based on the following factors:
  Time period, Collection amount of a transaction, Number of transactions
   

• Server Lookup
  An option is provided to the operator as well as to the customer to query the server for outstanding bill amount, against a particular telephone number.
   

• Bill Cancellation
  A transaction once made cannot be cancelled or deleted. Cancellation of a transaction is only possible through a new transaction with an annotation to the original transaction.
   

• Data Logging
  Logging and reporting of user login and collection amount for each operator is provided at the terminal end.
   

• Report Generation
  Apart from the receipts which are handed over to the customers, the following reports are generated:
  End of the day Summary
  Operator login/collection report
   

• SMS Notification
  An SMS based notification can be provided to the customer as soon as the payment is received against that person’s telephone bill. The payment received notification confirms the receipt of payment for a particular phone number.
   

• Configuration
  Terminal information such as the Terminal Id & Station Id is configurable with configuration access provided to a special user designated as the Supervisor. The supervisor can also setup user accounts.
