The drop console appliance is designed around AEMIT’s deskmate platform architecture and conforms to the Versatile Point-of-Presence (VPoP™) Guidelines for Transaction Based Application development.

The dropConsole appliance shall be installed at various outlets through out the cities of operation.


Cheque Drop application

The cheque drop terminal operator shall accept payment on behalf of various service-operators from consumers of the service. The data for the cheque drop shall be entered by the operator using a LCD/Keypad provided on the drop console terminal.

The information entered by the operator shall be stored within the terminal’s memory. The user shall then transfer the information and update the remote database in the form of an email message sent through a dial-up connection.
 

The user shall have the flexibility to initiate the dial-up connection whenever desired. In the event that the information can not be updated on the remote server due to communication failure between the terminal and the remote database, the drop console shall provide the option to manually extract the data from the terminal onto a rider’s terminal through a serial port.
